White Burgundy wine
Wines made from the Aligoté grape are exclusively white.Aligoté accounts for 6% of all vines in Bourgogne and has a long history here as one of the two local white varietals along with Chardonnay. It is a vigorous vine with larger and more plentiful grapes than Chardonnay.
Elegant Chardonnay, the nose has a delicate mix of fresh herbs, ripe yellow apple, and crushed rock, with the faintest hint of oak. On the palate the wine is bright, focused, and linear with the intense minerality carrying it through and the oak adding just enough softness and texture to round it out.
Managed by Dominique Lafon, also in charge of the Comtes Lafon estate in Meursault, in Côte d´Or, this Mâconnais property stands out among the references in the region since 1999. This Saône-et-Loire vineyard - 20 hectares planted with Chardonnay - was quickly converted to biodynamic agriculture.
Very beautiful pale gold colour. Very fruity nose, on a register of exotic aromas. On the palate, the minerality of the terroir of La Roche-Vineuse expresses itself well. Nice balance between alcohol and acidity. It's a refreshing wine to drink now.
