Bright with red and black fruit, notes of wild rosemary and thyme mingle with spice and dark cherry fruit on the palate, balanced by bright acidity and ripe supple tannins.
This stunning fortified organic wine from the lesser known region of Roussillon is made of Grenache, a smooth yet complex sweet natural wine (taste similar to port), with vivid red fruits on the nose.
Foillard’s Cuvee Corcelette comes from one of the finest named sites in Morgon and Foillard’s parcel is a treasured patch of 80-year-old vines!
A blended cuvée: 50% Carignan, 10% Grenache and 40% Syrah, from 30- to 60-year-old vines, grown on schist soils. Didier’s green capital is entirely managed by his cows, the winegrower’s other great passion, and chemicals haven’t touched his vines for more than 30 years. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic.
The Sarget de Gruaud Larose is the second wine of Château Gruaud Larose. The Sarget de Gruaud Larose 2016 releases fruity aromas on the nose (black cherry, red plum) and floral scents (violets). Subtly oaky notes are well integrated. On the palate, the tannins are quite ripe and we can note tasty fruity touches in this silky wine.
WS: A beauty, with an inviting display of succulent yellow apple, green plum, pear, persimmon and quince flavors that ripples lengthily through the finish, while light verbena, ginger and honeysuckle notes dart around. A long green tea echo runs through the finish. Shows terrific range and purity, with the sweetness easily harnessed for balance.
This is a Sweet wine yet refined and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and generous yet piquant and firmly structured, greatly tensioned and salty Moelleux. With less clay and more stone than Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont yields young wines of intense minerality. The wines are the estate's most reticent, but develop the strongest perfume with age.
In most great vintages, this wine would be called cuvée 3,14. However, the 2015 vintage was so singular that the wine was given its own name.
Produced from 100% old vine Syrah, planted in Cote Blonde, the wine pops with scents of flowers, smoke, earth, cherries, thyme and earth. Power and elegance, length, finesse and complexity that does not finish until you have spent time with the sweet, stony red fruits and spice on your palate. This will age quite well (WCI)
