Domaine Foillard Morgon Athanor 2015 (Magnum)
Morgon
Morgon “Athanor” 2015, here in magnum, is among Domaine Jean Foillard's most ambitious wines — an old-vine cuvée made in tiny quantities. Made from old Gamay vines on Morgon's volcanic soils by traditional carbonic maceration with minimal intervention, it is deep, structured and ageworthy, with concentrated dark cherry, raspberry and violet, volcanic minerality, fine tannins and great length; the magnum favours slow, graceful ageing. Serve lightly cool at 15-17°C, decanted.
