Producer Notes:

Dedicated to the vine for several centuries, this great terroir specific overlooking the Gironde, was mentioned among the best Crus of Bordeaux in the 1st edition of FERET 1850 , under the name of its former owner BERNIARD .
After the acquisition by Hervé ROMAT and Jean Mallet in 2004, François TAILLIEZ came to join them in 2012 .
Associated with the best clay- limestone Coteau and Plateau Clay Gritty, the vines have an average age of over 40 years , some of which exceeded 50 years .
The densities of 6500 plants / ha , produce little and Merlot grape varieties to more than 80 % along with 15% Malbec and a little Cabernet Franc , allows one of the best expressions of these specific terroirs
All the more so that the vines are subject to almost continuous westerly winds , allowing less fungal contamination (thus limited treatment), and providing a natural concentration.
All our wines are from a hand picking of the grapes, a viticulture , respect of the soil with grass cover , phytosanitary treatments (limited ) with the most respectful of vine products, the lack of pumping with heavy pressure , along with total traceability , ensuring the best quality .
