Rhone Valley Red wine
Deeper colored, the 2018 Vacqueyras Grande Garrigue offers plenty of spicy characteristics as well as dark fruits and classic peppery garrigue. It’s medium to full-bodied, has wonderful fruit, offers ripe tannins, and is just a smoking Vacqueyras with loads to love. (JD)
The 2016 Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes comes from the Bessards and les Grandes Vignes, which are both granite soils. Black raspberries, cassis, burning embers, saddle leather and graphite characteristics all emerge from this opulent, concentrated, impressively textured Hermitage. It has plenty of structure, yet the tannins are sweet. (JD)
This beauty offers the fine, finesse-driven style of the vintage, yet has full-bodied depth and richness as well as sensational notes of framboise, crushed flowers, licorice, Christmas fruitcake and spice. It’s in the top handful of wines in the vintage and will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 20+ years of overall longevity.
Produced from 100% old vine Syrah, planted in Cote Blonde, the wine pops with scents of flowers, smoke, earth, cherries, thyme and earth. Power and elegance, length, finesse and complexity that does not finish until you have spent time with the sweet, stony red fruits and spice on your palate. This will age quite well (WCI)
